Head Students
At Laurel Avenue, our Head Students are excellent role models who represent the school with pride, confidence and enthusiasm. They are chosen because they consistently demonstrate our school values and have shown a commitment to making a positive contribution to school life.
The role of Head Student is a prestigious position that gives pupils the opportunity to develop their leadership skills while supporting younger children and working alongside staff to improve our school community.
How Are Head Students Chosen?
Pupils who wish to become Head Students complete an application and prepare a speech explaining why they would be suitable for the role. Candidates share their ideas, achievements and aspirations with their peers before taking part in a democratic election process. This ensures that the successful candidates have the confidence and support of the school community.
Developing Future Leaders
Being a Head Student is an opportunity to develop valuable skills including leadership, communication, teamwork, organisation and responsibility. Head Students learn how to represent others, make decisions and contribute positively to their school community.
We are incredibly proud of our Head Students and the dedication, maturity and enthusiasm they bring to their role each day. Their hard work helps make Laurel Avenue a welcoming, ambitious and inspiring place to learn.
