Friends of Laurel Avenue School (FOLAS)

Who are we?

Parents, carers, staff, governors and volunteers who give up their time to attend meetings and help organise and run events. We share the collective aim to enhance the experience of children attending the school as well as supporting charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support.

What do we do?

We arrange events such as Christmas and Summer Fayres, Mothers' Day Tea and Coffee Afternoons to raise funds for the children and school and for charities.

During Friends of Laurel Avenue Society Meetings, we not only discuss ways to raise money, but also how to spend it! Over the last few years, money raised has been spent on contributing £5 for every child towards an Educational Visit each year. This is very much appreciated because arranging a valuable Educational Visit can be very expensive these days. Each year money raised also goes towards buying children a book for their Christmas present.

If you would like to have a say in what we spend the money raised at events in school on, please keep an eye out for notices and texts about our Friends of Laurel Avenue meetings and come along and join us!
