Class 3 are organising a little Easter egg raffle to help raise money for an upcoming school trip, and we’d love your support!

The raffle will be drawn during our Easter assembly on Thursday 2nd April. We’ve got 13 lovely prizes up for grabs, including bundles of Easter eggs, baskets and some very cute teddies.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

Thanks again for your support!

Comic Relief – Red Nose Day 2026

On Friday 20th March 2026, we will be joining schools across the country in supporting Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day, a fantastic event that raises money to help people facing poverty and hardship in the UK and around the world.

To celebrate the day, children are invited to come to school wearing red clothing or Comic Relief merchandise if they wish. They are also encouraged to wear their Red Noses to help spread smiles and laughter throughout the school.

This year, Comic Relief has collaborated with the famous doodle artist Doodleman, who has created special doodle-inspired noses. Inspired by this creative theme, our School Council has decided that our fundraising activity will be called:

“Donate to Doodle”

For a small donation, children will be able to take part in a fun doodling activity. We will have giant rolls of paper around the school, where pupils can create their own doodles and drawings together to produce a huge collaborative piece of artwork.

How children can take part:

• Wear red clothes or Comic Relief merchandise
• Wear a Red Nose if they have one
• Bring a small donation to take part in our Donate to Doodle activity

All donations will go directly to Comic Relief to support their vital work helping people in the UK and across the world. Funds raised help provide essentials such as food, shelter and support for those who need it most.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us make a difference while having lots of fun along the way.

Dear Parents and Carers,

British Science Week 2026

Every year in school we celebrate British Science Week by joining in with a range of activities.

This year the theme is ‘Curiosity: What’s your question?’ and children will be investigating and exploring a wide range of STEM related questions and careers.

We have chosen to think about the following areas within our week:

EYFS will be exploring how to grow food on the moon and which pegs are best for hanging washing on a washing line?

Key Stage 1 will be exploring how birds build their nests.

Key Stage 2 will be investigating how to make the best paper aeroplane and what makes the best hankie when you have a cold?

As part of the activities, we would like to invite you to join your child and participate in a practical activities linked to their learning:

Friday 13th March – Science Fair 2:30-3:30

Parents/carers are invited to see a showcase of work from Nursery to Year 6 and to join their child in some practical investigations.

We hope you can join in with us during the week and enjoy STEM learning with your child.

Dear Parent/Carer

With the continual challenges we are facing in terms of food inflation and the additional rise in National Minimum Wage and to ensure a sustainable and nutritious meal is provided to the Children, it has been necessary to agree a price increase in relation to the Primary School meal.

From Monday 20th April 2026, Primary School Meals will be charged at £3.08 per day.

The Council and a representation of Primary School leaders undertook a full and transparent review of costs and accepted the new price on the basis that this will be fixed until 31st March 2027.

If your child or children attend an infant school or infant class from Reception to Year 2 (KS1) then school meals will continue to be free to them under the government Universal Infant Free School Meal Scheme.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours faithfully,

Durham School Meals Board

We will be using the Arbor Parent App in school from now. To get started, please read the following information and get signed up!

We are still using the current apps as usual but we need everyone to download the Arbor App to ensure that the transition over will be successful. If you do not receive an email, please check your junk. We can see when you have signed up so we will keep checking to make sure everyone has.

We will be communicating about the changes via Arbor which will be in the form of emails.

Thank you.

Can you help?

Do you have any of the following for OPAL?

Toy animals and dinosaurs.

Toy food.

Dressing up clothes - not Super Heroes or weapons please. These can include scarves, bags, hats and other things that children can dress in - they do not have to be bought character costumes although these are good too.

Large cushions/bean bags.

Dolls including Barbies and clothes, furniture etc.

Fairy garden items.

Shells, pine cones.

Small world figures.

We have lots of cuddly toys and cooking items for the mud kitchen so we don't need any more of these.

Thank you so much! We're currently having a good tidy and sort out and really could do with replenishing the resources. You can bring them in from tomorrow. Thanks!
